This cache was so named because of the description of a nearby benchmark. The benchmark got it's name from the Mount Morrison Cable Inclined Railway which operated here from 1909 to about 1914 It is a small container containing only a log sheet. Bring your own pen.

The climb should not be taken lightly. Starting at the Red Rocks Amphitheater parking lot you ascend from 6450 ft to 7881 ft in little more than 0.7 miles to the highest point in Red Rocks Park. The trail goes directly up the east face following the old cable railway route. You will see many old artifacts along the way. You may need to use your hands in places to keep from sliding on the loose rock and gravel. On the way down you may use your bottom although you did not mean to. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SMALL CHILDREN OR DOGS. I recommend you go when it is cool and bring lots of water. There is a road leading up the west side of the mountain from Idledale but I believe it is closed to the public about 2 miles out.

We searched all around and found a very plausible hiding spot, but no luck.

While I was up there I had placed a replacement where I thought the cache had been, took a photo, sent it to the CO and asked if that was OK. He replied quickly, Yes. So there is now a replacement and I am counting this as a find.

We looked and looked for an hour, but came up empty handed unfortunately. We translated the hint and it didn't really click with me. The view sure was great though. Lady bugs were swarming the summit today! It was pretty crazy to see.

It was a great climb up to Mount Morrison! Loved the views from the top. Walked right by this one the first time and thought it might be difficult to find because of the snow. I then reread the clue and realized I had walked right by it! Great hide!!!

Log a wee bit wet, cap was loose. Tighten cap and put it upside down so the water and snow would not get inside!

SL!!! TFTC!!!
