This cache was hidden by myself, my brother and my son. Back in the day..as a "Kid" I roamed the park here and logged many hours of adventure in "Sundance Ranch"! Back when rock climbing or just wandering around exploring wasn't illegal.

It's a small waterproof container that includes a logbook and full of gold findings or other treasures explorers have left. My son thought trading "gold" sounded cool! Monetary gold of course so don't be expecting to make a car payment with this find! Hidden just off the county road so rock climbing is not involved.

Access from Roxborough State Park: If you don't have a yearly parks pass, a day pass will cost around $8. A short detour up the county road if your heading for Carpenter Peak will get you there. As the Park Guide says..Watch for Rattlesnakes and Poison Ivy. Also rock climbing is prohibited. Please read the Parks rules!

Ever since we posted these rules the very nice Park Rangers have let our cache stay!

Or if you are coming from the residential side, must know a resident or are one, then it's a short hike from the mini parking area at the gate! Pretty much as far as you can drive to the back of Roxborough Park. If you live in the park then you know.

No luck today...

Couldn’t come up with anything. Perhaps this is an unauthorized placement and the park people are removing it?

Have tried to find this one on several Roxborough hikes and it always seemed to be missing, so I came prepared with a small container today and when there was nothing at GZ, I left the container according to the hint. My GPS said 3 ft at GZ, so I guess it's in the right spot. Neat location for a hide and no snakes this time of the year! Thanks!

I visited with Youkfish who found it last month. It's not there.

Hit the gate at 7:05 and was the fourth car in the lot, completed my 9.5 mi hike in about 5 hours and both lots were full. Lots of people on the Carpenter Peak trail enjoying the great weather. Grabbed this one on my way down. Approached from the wrong side and gave up, then I decided to approach from the other side and found a 5 ft bull snake guarding the path. Of course he moved on, but right under the cache, so grabbed it very carefully and replaced it just the same. Cheers!
