This cache is near the top of Peak 1, the first of the Ten Mile Range. Though only 12,805 ft, it has an elevation rise of 3,700 ft. The trail is easy up to Mount Victoria, and gets more difficult as you approach the peak, though never more than Class 2. Waterproof shoes, warm clothes, and a rain jacket are a must. Storms roll into the area about 1:00 everyday, so it’s best to be off the peak by then. Roughly 8 miles round trip.
The cache is a medium size ammo can. It has a large log book and a pen. Original contents include a stuffed teddy bear, a bunch of stickers, and a $20 bill for the first finder. :-)

Also, take a picture of your hiking team with the disposable camera! If you don't mind putting a note of how many pictures are left on the camera that would be helpful.

PLEASE DON'T TAKE THE CAMERA!!!!!

Parking available at the southern end of 2nd street, across the bike path. This is the easiest access to the mount royal trail.

Beautiful hike in the snow. The lower trail was packed solid, but there was only one other pair of boot prints from the radio station structure to the summit. The wind was really whippin' up here. Once I reached steeper terrain past the last saddle I took off the snowshoes and donned the microspikes. I lashed my snowshoes to my pack, but the wind was catching them big time and almost throwing me off the mountain, so I decided to cache them under some rocks while I scurried to the top.

I had to kick some steps in hard snow to get up the last 80 feet, but it wasn't too bad. I only spent a couple minutes looking for the cache because of the wind, but i wasn't able to find it in the snow. Oh well, still had a wonderful hike to the top.

The cache is a large green ammo box. That brown box is not it. I doubt it has gone missing, given its size. I attempted the climb about 3 weeks ago, but was turned back by snow on the last 300 ft. I'll be up there again this summer and will move it to a better spot.

Hi there C.O. This one hasn't been found in quite a while. Tried to find it today and think I was in the correct spot. I've included 2 Picts for you to check-out. Wondering if the cache is gone...
