Nice hike in beautiful weather. My phobia of heights has almost disappeared, I had a lot
of desensitization training on our trip. Hubby got a bit paranoid when he found a mountainlion
print on the trail which was obviously very fresh, because it had rained the night before.
TFTC!

Made the great hike and will add more to the log later because the Wi-fi in our campground is on the blink.

Great hike with fantastic views! My dad has hiked out here for years and never done this one so he really enjoyed it. Coordinates were off a little but the hint made finding the cache fairly easy. Since there was an energy packet in the cache, it seemed fitting to leave a package of peanut butter and cheese crackers. We decided not to take anything but did enjoy playing with the 3D glassess. Everyone thought I looked pretty good in them but you can be the judge if I can figure out how to attach a picture. Thanks for getting us into this part of the mountain:D

I'll agree with Jake on this find. It was just after noon, we had gotten those new valley caches and seriously considered making the jump to this one. The thought of 2 miles each way and 1,100 feet elevation gain as the temperatures were on the rise didn't seem so bad. That was until we were just past the overlook. On and on up the hill finally to the bench heading south. I had forgotten how beautiful the trek is and the astounding vistas one has. Again, Jake pointed out this most incredible home built atop Gold Hill. Likely a summer home for sure. We've traveled this trail numerous times and don't remember this old cabin. Jake and I teamed up to find the cache; he on the cabin interior guiding me outside. GZ was about 26 feet west of the cache, but the hint really helped on the find. As Jake said, this type of container will not last a few good rains and for sure the winter. Still we appreciate the effort to place this hide and the great venue, thanks...
