I managed to make the find on this one today via a hike from Williams Canyon. The trail to the cache from GC2N05Y red rocks is showing its age. In many places it has become quite overgrown from a lack of use. Despite the overgrowth, navigation was still easy. I was happy to make the find on this one without having to do any spiderman moves on the nearby cliff. The log is still well protected by the multiple bag system put in by OR, but the container is finally starting to fall apart. I tried to close and maintain the container integrity as much as possible, but the bags will now be doing most of the important protection of the elements work.

If the next cache could bring a replacement container, we can still keep this one going for years. The CO hasn’t logged in since 2013, so formal maintenance is unlikely and it will be up to us active cachers to keep this one going before someone decides to try to have it archived instead of helping to maintain it.

Yup ! All of thirty square feet was left pristine and lonely- a tiny shrine to the Geocaching Gods... consisting of just the two trees where this one is quietly sitting; abiding away the years.
The container lid fared less well with the changing of all the seasons- really not serving any practical purpose any more. However, the baggies within have kept all the paper goods safe and sound.

I photo'd the only recipe still in here; and added another layer of plastic to try & help all keep for the next 6 or whatever !!

For those unfamiliar with the area: this cache was in the area burned by the waldo canyon fire in June of 2012. At this point in time, all trailheads to access this trail are closed and it is illegal to be in a fresh burn area as there are concerns about erosion, tree fall and general safety and well being of your self and the scorched environment.
I am not going to archive this cache quite yet, as we definitely plan to replace it. Should this trail continue to be unavailable for many months, we will take down this listing.
Thank you for your understanding and as soon as the trail is open and we have replaced, I will update the listing again.

Out early this morning on a fun hike around the loop with SnailMan1.

I have never been up on this loop before today and I can not say that anymore. :)

It was one of the best mornings for this hike.

Thanks for the cache!

I meet up with Hartsdale today to hike Waldo Canyon Trail. I walked by the cache when I heard Hartsdale say I think its over here. After signing the log and trading trackables we enjoyed the nice view. TFTC.

This is a really good spot for a cache. It sure is nice to get away from it all.
Swapped coins, thanks
