Scenic view  Significant hike

GeoDog74 hit the ground running, and now has been showing us AWESOME new places to hike and cache! Thanks, GeoDog---we all LOVE to find new places that are "off the map" and you're doing a great job showing us some! So, I figured it was time for a GeoDog74 Tribute Cache!

Congrats to GeoDog74 for snagging the FTF on his Tribute Cache.

For those cachers that are newer to our sport/hobby, in the early days of Geocaching, whenever a Tribute Cache was published EVERYONE (even the most avid FTF Hounds) waited until the Tributee logged the FTF before heading out to log the find. I miss that former courtesy, and thank all of you who waited until GeoDog got out there and got the FTF before you hunted for this cache. Maybe we're seeing a return to that GREAT, old tradition! A little courtesy goes a long way in this crazy world, and I like to think that cachers as a whole are a kind, helpful, courteous, and caring group. Thank you for proving me right---and let's revive the Tribute Cache FTF Tradition!

Nice hike on a trail with nobody else.
Lot of traffic going west, but no other cars on the parking.
Hiked up and made a quick find here.
Those hints really help a lot.

Took the hard, steep ‘shortcut’ straight up the slope from parking. Thanks for the new caches. Left trinkets. K7

Got out early on what was forecast to be a fairly hot day - feels like I may have managed to beat the worst of it - this was the eleventh of a dozen geocaches that I found along the way - also the fourth stop on a park-once-find-five excursion. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Took this side trail on the way down to get the last two. This one had a lot of water inside, but the log was dry. Further off the trail than my gz said it was.

WOO HOO! FTF at 15:45! I was soooo nervous that another cacher would beat me to this one. COhodag was kind enough to alert me of this cache publishing, but I was 5 hours away camping and floating the Gunnison river. Back in Evergreen, I rushed at the first chance to find this and my heart dropped when I noticed another car parked here, and someone else's name on a log down below with today's date! Thankfully they hadn't made it up here yet, and I was able to sign my name in Pole Position! Thanks COhodag for the kind words, and a huge Shout Out to all of the Cache Owners who have placed such awesome caches in this place I call home! Thanks COhodag, Greasepot, Cajrrman, Kitt5, K7, Mt. Porg's, MLCcrashers, and many others for their respective efforts in making this game so fun! I am awarding this cache it's very first Favorite! SL TFTC!
