The house is a small, English style cottage built in 1873 by Major Henry B. McAllister of brick imported from Philadelphia. The McAllister House is one of the oldest houses in Colorado Springs. It was the home of the Henry McAllister family which was influential in the establishment of the city. McAllister House has been restored and furnished in authentic Victorian manner. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. For more information, see http://www.mcallisterhouse.org.
