The 3.5 is for the first 10 ft. (road embankment), the rest of the way is easy. Cache is 4x4x6 camo rubbermaid container. This is the 6th cache in the Cochetopa series. Upper or Lower Dome Lake Reservoirs (9098 ft. elevation) is a great destination for fishing (winter and summer). It is very easy to get to in a 2 wheel drive, as well as RV's, off Colorado State Hwy 114 via County Rd. NN14. This is another beautiful drive in which you may see elk, deer, antelope, marmots, coyotes and maybe even a badger, or bear, as well as waterfowl when you get to the Lakes. If you were to continue on this road completely around Cochetopa Dome, turning on GG17 just down the road, you would end up back on Colorado Hwy 114 very near Cochetopa/GG17 cache!! There is camping (dry) allowed at the Upper Dome Reservoir as well as restrooms and drinking water. So bring a picnic and a fishing pole along with your GPS and enjoy a little sample of Gods country in "my neck of the woods"!! This should be accessable during the winter.
Congratulations to cyrus003 for a third - FTF in this series! Good job!!

06/21/2016 By Goonch TFTC! Couldn't believe it was in such great shape; apparently there really was a 9 1/2 month gap between finds. Took the geocoin and will send it on its way. Beautiful location!
09/08/2015 By Rich_Life On my way to hike a few segments of the Colorado Trail. Had to find a 3+ cache to drop off a coin. TFTC.
