I zigged when I should have zagged but made it up the hill and thru the oak brush and found the cool cave with the cache.

Hard climb through oak bush but worth it.

The cookie tin was full of water :( Fun but tough one. Bit of bushwhacking. Log was beyond saving. New one needed

That was a steep climb and we left a pint of blood in the oak bushes.Shock
We found pieces of the cache in the oak leafs, but NO can, so we had a camo pill bottle in our back pack and left it, so the cache can keep going. Hope that is OK with all you other cachers!!!!
It is in a little cave --that our 2 GPS's took us with the Cache coors--and we cover it with a rock, so the animals can't take it.

We were at the campground on a mule ride. We rode the mules as far up the steep hill as we could, then hiked up the rest of the way through scrub oak and lots of brush. We looked and looked in all the holes we could find, never did find the cache. I will say the view was ALMOST worth the hike.

A 4 and 6 year old made this hike with mom and 2 cousins. It was a bit challenging for the 4 year old but so happy we found it. There was a travel bug in the cache. It will be in it's new cache on 8/13/2011. We are from Kansas so you might figure by now where it is going to be hiding. The travel bug was well worth the hike from our campground.

There is an easy way up and a hard way. We took the hard way and found several caves. Be careful of the footing. Its loose and slippery. The scrub oaks were out in force also. I took the Purple Kitty travel bug and left the travel bug A Loss for Words with the smiling angel pin in it's canister. I hope someone will climb up and retrieve it soon. TFTC
