Dogs  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  May require wading  Available at all times  Not Available during winter  Parking available  Truck Driver/RV  Short hike (less than 1km)  Seasonal Access  Tourist Friendly

Do you find yourself needing to streatch your legs during the drive over highway 550? Well the Cache at the Pass is a good reason to stop, take a picture at the pass sign, and get a smiley all at the same time.

From the parking you will rise about 90 feet which for locals will not be an issue, but for flat landers that live at much lower elevations.......these 90 feet might be a little rough. You will have to climb up an unmaintained hill, cross a narrow ditch of running water (able bodies can jump over it without getting wet), and walk along an unmaintained trail to get to the cache location. There is a small lake, as well as several seasonal ponds that survive with snowmelt and spring and summer rains. Mosquitos will be a factor in finding this cache depending on weather conditions. Enjoy the views of Red Mountain to the East, and the view South towards Silverton.

**Though this cache is available year round, seasonal closures of the highway during winter/summer due to snow/fire might limit access to the cache. Also it is at ground level, and though you can find this cache at any time, significant snowfall will make this cache hard if not impossible to find.

This was a great spot to stretch our legs. Weather was amazing and the short walk to the cache was fun. Container was in good condition. The Mini Protectors left some swag and a PT while I grabbed one of the TBs to move along. Thanks for placing this in such an amazing location!

Came up here to drop off a few travelers to hibernate the winter. Cache can still be reached, and was not buried in the snow........yet. Winter is fast approaching, and this one will soon be lost till the spring thaw. If your fast on this one, you can follow my footprints right to it.

Found this one with the CO, right after a bit of snow. Dropping a TB, and hope it gets moved along in the spring, when things thaw out. Thanks to the CO for placing this geocache in a beautiful location.

Ugh, starting a little hike, even short uphill... at 11,000 feet can wind you easy. TFTC loved it.

Found with MamaBrat on our 27th anniversary camping trip at Ridgway State Park. This is a great little off-road diversion on the million dollar Highway.

Working on my Southwestern Colorado counties. Quite a climb for Mrs. Soloyo but she made it and the find. TFTC

Came to check on it with the recent DNF, well I’m happy to say the cache is still there and in good shape, the last cachers just missed it. I dropped off a TB. Happy hunting.

Found a small pile of rocks at the base of a pine, empty space inside.
