Out with friends making a loop from Buena Vista, over Monarch Pass then Pitkin and back to BV via Hancock Pass a total of 145 miles. We signed the replacement and put in a new log. I don't think the CO will mind the replacement they haven't been active since 2010.

After setting up camp below the next cache up the road, we came down here to fish. Upon reaching the lake we were joined by a hungry moose. It came in like it owned the place and started munching on the lake bed and surrounding berry bushes. After taking numerous pics and keeping a watchful distance, we were finally able to get back to fishing. My nephew's setup promptly broke and, thanks to the moose, I'd never had time to get my pole set up. So while everyone else fished, my nephew and I gave this a lengthy search. Lots of overgrowth, numerous spots, and bouncing GPS made life difficult. Since the last find was years ago, we eventually left a makeshift replacement out of a bait jar and cardboard slip. Our hope is that it keeps this cache going since it is a great spot to bring people to.

Out for a hike with my muggle buddy Neller on a beautiful day and of course we are going to check for a few caches. After parking the car we searched for this one but no luck like several others in the past year. Maybe needs to be checked on.
