From the informational sign: Built in 1942, this structure served as a house of worship for Fitzsimons until June of 1996. Stained glass windows and an open truss roof contribute to its architectural distinction. 

After the previous cache was archived, I felt the need to place one here since the Aurora Historical Society doesn't seem to mention this structure on its publications. It is very rare for me to hide a cache with such a low D/T rating, so enjoy the 'gimme' while you can!

[FTF] 6-9-2023 at 5:06 pm. Thankful for a "gimme". I spend 6 years here before the base was decommissioned. It's still strange to see it civilianized. I waited around for others to show up, but wasn't able to share the FTF. Thanks for pointing out this piece of history!
Today I have time to cache, but have to get home to catch up on logging. I haven't logged any of the caches I've found in the past three days. Time to buckle down and get it done.
