I was in the Boulder area today and decided I'd take a look for this cache. The last time I was in the vicinity it was raining so I didn't attempt it. No luck today. I checked all the ledges I could but came up empty-handed. I looked from the shoulder of the road also and couldn't see like the previous finders could. My GZ had me much higher than 20 feet above the road, above the larger tree growing out of the rocks, and this was with both an app and a handheld GPS. I'll keep a watch on this one to see if anyone has better luck than I did or if the CO verifies it's still there.

We climbed around and tried to spot it from below but saw nothing.

We climbed around and didn't find the cache. I'm sure it is there, we just missed it.

This was one of my toughest, scariest, and most frustrating geocaching days so far. I started by spilling my coffee on my work shirt, then driving about 3 miles past the first geocache in the mountains. Wandered around till I found my way back. Then an Audi (I already have a distaste for them) was on my rear bumper when I came around a sharp corner to find a deer in the middle of the 2 lane road. I slammed on my brakes. The Audi barely missed me, swerved into oncoming traffic and nearly hit an oncoming car. He fishtailed and took off. I pulled over at the next pull off to calm down. Then I got in over my head climbing a rock wall (solo, no ropes and I'm not a climber). Finally got down after I was drenched in Adrenalin based sweat. Then a 20 minute search for a different cache without luck. I ended the evening at 9:30 pm with 14 finds.
WOW! I went in way over my head for this one. I read that it was on a ledge, so I started from the south end and went up a little before I went north along the edge. I didn't see the cache, but I stupidly kept moving forward... until I couldn't anymore. I still didn't see the cache. Time to head back. I realized that trying to down climb the wall was going to be way tougher. I was alone and had no ropes. After about 5 minutes I was covered in sweat and had to lean against the wall to rest my fingers. I had barely gone 15 feet, but was exhausted. A short rest and I started again. But about 10 feet further and woops, I slipped and began sliding down the wall. Not slowly, but quick. I caught a rock with my armpit to break my fall. At the time, I also didn't realize that I jammed my ankle. But when I looked down I was only about 10 feet up. So I turned and slid the rest of the way down. I took my jacket off to cool off and read the description, hint, and prior logs. I should have done that before attempting the climb. Now I stayed on the ground and looked up. Spotted the container, made the comparatively east climb to grab the container and stamp the log. I certainly earned the 5D on this one. TFTC!

Quick find and FTF with tracylhs at 6:54 PM. Pretty tricky climb up, certainly lives up to the terrain rating. SL. TFTC!

Could actually see this one from the shoulder of the road, of course, access was the issue. Jacobboulder and a stick made the grab! FTF with jacobboulder. TFTC!
