The cache is accessible via a short walk from the Sage Flats parking area or via boat, canoe, kayak, or SUP, from either the marina, if you want to paddle a good ways, or the ramp behind the visitor center, or from Sage Flats, also. You may have to get you shoes wet if you walk! Also, there is nothing to stop the wind from blowing across the lake. Even in warm weather, you should take at least a windbreaker! DAMHIKT!
NOTE: Parents, if you take small children on this hike, please do not let them play with the rocks hiding the cache. While they are not overly large, they are heavy, and we don't want any fingers hurt.
Please, Please, take care to rehide the cache as well as you found it. Many people use this access to get to lonely fishing spots along the southern edge of the lake. There is also, normally, a small beach about 75 feet from the cache.
You will be treated to some very nice views of the lake, Hahn's Peak, and Sand Mountain from the trail.
As always, please keep an eye out for any kind of social trail developing so we may move the cache if one starts. Thanks.
