Multis - love them or hate them?

To claim this challenge you must find and log 500 or more Multi-caches.

I admit to having a love-hate relationship with multis.

A few of my favorites are the now archived BAD COORDINATES, The Five Treasures of Renault Legault and BEADazzled Cache. I have also enjoyed hikes doing Petroglyphs of Rainbow Falls, Multi on Mount Falcon, CPines's Grand Multi Cache. and 1879, and then some.

Multi-caches are also among my most disliked searches, but I won't share that list. You likely have your own.

Why don't more people do a lot of multi-caches?

Many cachers don't want to spend a lot of time (sometimes all day or several days) to get one smilie when they can get hundreds of drive-bys in the same time span. And who wants to spend a lot of time on a cache only to discover waypoints or the final are missing and the hider does not do maintenance? Or how about those multis that are actually a sequence of puzzles but there is no indication of that on the cache page and to top it off, the puzzles may not be able to be solved in the field. And let's face it - some cache hiders make their multis so convoluted and confusing (how many hoops can I make you jump through?) that you sometimes think they publish them just to show off their superior knowledge and cleverness.

Be that as it may, this challenge cache is for those hardy seekers who have invested the time and effort to search them out.

The container is a larger than most small containers but smaller than an ammo can. It is on the ground, tucked out of sight.

Finally qualified for this challenge, and got out here to find it. The trip itself was a bit of a challenge - the entire road length was packed snow and ice, and slow going. Then the trail was similar, almost entirely snow covered and the ground in the area was 90% covered with several inches. You picked the perfect spot, though, and the cache vicinity was bare!! Cache is in good shape, and it was good to finally get to sign this one. Thanks for an interesting challenge that got me chasing more multis!

As of this writing I am 145 short. Love another challenge to work on. Looking forward to completing it even if I do hate multis.

As I hiked by I stopped & signed this log even though I don't qualify. I have over 10,000 finds taking almost 13 years now but only 249 of them are multis so I guess I will have to find another 10,000. Is there a 250 Multi-cache challenge? I might actually be able to achieve that!

This would be my first one of the day but sadly I don't yet qualify. I think I need another 300 to get there! Maybe someday...
