Scraggy: Rough, jagged
or
Scraggy: lean and long or scrawny

For this trail, the first definition is most appropriate for the mountain here.

This is the 38th in my series of Trail Mix caches all made out of Trail Mix jars.

This cache requires a hike or bike ride of about 3 miles round trip with the hardest part getting up to the Little Scraggy Trail from the roadside parking just outside the Kelsey Campground. Or if you are camping there you can certainly park there too! The trail begins on the camp road not too far from the entrance.

You are likely to see lots of mountain bikers on the Little Scraggy Trail and you can also get to the cache area that way instead of hiking. When I hid the cache on a Friday, I did not see too many but on a weekend you will most likely see a lot of them on this very popular trail. You could also use your mountain bike to ride the entire Little Scraggy Trail. That would be a loop of about 12 or 13 miles.

Like most of these TM caches, there are nice views along the way and near the hiding place for this cache. Of course, there are rocks and in this case, I mean there are lots of rocks and boulders in the vicinity of the cache.

As always when hiking, make sure you let someone know where you are going and when you plan to be back.

Yay, Gottcha! Another afternoon of racing the inbound thunderstorms. It was pretty ominous as I approached the trail head, but my Geocaching Overlords again granted me a temporary window to race up the trail and find this one first! Very cool spot for a hide, and another Trail Mix notch in the belt, only two more to go! Stamped my name and kept moving, hoping to publish a few new hides in the area! Earns another favorite from me! TFTC!

Trailmix complete once again for now!

Found today with Bhob, and BearAdair. We love keeping up with the trailmix series, and buddies. Wasn't too hot today for a nice hike.

Picked up the trackables traveling together, and just discovered the third. Gets a fave.
