Medium geocache hidden in aspen grove.

This is our oldest daughters first geocache hiding experience. Hidden in a beautiful aspen grove. It is a real treat in the fall. Lots of old mining buildings around, as well as some great views. Located just off the road, and just off the Mineral Belt Trail. Easy for most anyone to get too. Do practice some caution, do not enter buildings, and avoid walking in depressions.

Our 8th and final cache of the day. We are using the Leadville area as our basecamp for hiking adventures over the long Labor Day weekend. This morning, we began hiking Mt. Elbert at 4:45 a.m. and reached the summit by 8:00. After returning to the trailhead, we drove back to our rental in town for a much needed rest. Then, we stopped by downtown for dinner at the Tennessee Pass Cafe. Afterwards, we drove up the hillside to check out the bike trail and mines. Wish we had some bikes to ride the entire trail. Quick find. Thanks.
