Sunshine Peak is a fourteen thousand foot mountain peak in the US state of Colorado. It is located in the San Juan Mountains in Hinsdale County.

Sunshine Peak has the dubious distinction of being the lowest of Colorado's 54 official fourteeners. It is also not particularly independent from its higher neighbor Redcloud Peak, with a topographic prominence of 481 feet (147 m) (the minimum standard for an independent fourteener is 300 feet (91 m)). However it has more and steeper local relief than many of the other fourteeners. For example, it rises 4,450 feet (1,356 m) above the townsite of Sherman to the south in only 1.2 miles (1.9 km).

This is probably the trashiest place I searched for a cache. And I found the dope stash, yucko. There is so much trash out here it's ridiculous. I couldn't find herndonrd's replacement though. I looked around the dope tree and the blown down tree at ground zero. With all the trash, it hides well. If I could "unfavorite" a cache, I would do it to this one.
Now I'm going home to take a shower.

Needed this one for the Summit challenge. Wind was blowing 100 mph when I got to GZ which is now a garbage dump. Looked over entire area with no luck. Looked at a likely spot 40-50 feet away. Success? Nope that "container" was full of dope! Dropped a new container at GZ for others to find although the CO should probably consider moving this one to a better area. TFTC!

Came to Denver to pick up my cousins FWIA & Izzifix. Made a quick trip to Cheyenne then back to Colorado. Now we’re on the way to the 5th annual campout in Grand Lake. Picked up the rest of what we needed for our passports. Thanks to all the COs for placing these for us to find! Signed log HM2

Before I have to go back to Switzerland, FWIA and Harvestmoon2 decided to get some caches around the Denver Airport area. Always a lot of fun on our trips!
