!! Exciting New Cache Series!!

“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado.  This series will introduce you to many of them.

The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.

COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other ‘Spirit Quest’ group.  Special thanks and credit are given to SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task.  It cannot be accomplished by just one or two people.  This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers  willing to place these caches.

After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

If you are interested in joining the “Walking Through History Clan” contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mo untain Passage”.  Use the ‘Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile.

Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

REMEMBER:

If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series.

The cache container is a camoed 35mm film canister.  You will not need to enter the cemetery to find the cache.  The cache is reached from a frontage road on the north side of the cemetery

This cemetery is just one of many national cemeteries that have been set up for the use by veterans and their spouses

Found this one right at dark! We tried to make it before last night! Too many other CSQs on our route today! Would love to come back and see this in the daylight! Thanks for the easy find!

Had no idea about this fort or cemetery until we were at Boggsville Days. Great find!

Saw this one close by after doing the Fort Lyon Santa Fe Trail Cache so headed out to make a quick grab. View of the cemetery is a stark reminder that even small towns have lost hundreds of veterans.

After Fort Lyon, I sought this. White like a ghost or the many tombstones across the road. TFTC.

We struck out today on our trek from CO to AR. The objective was to gather counties along the way with a concentration on cemeteries and other interesting stops. Only had one DNF on the day and visited a number of very interesting places thanks to geocaching! Nice hide. SL. TFTC

Expecting it to be inside the cemetery, until I remembered you can't put caches inside the national cemetery. I did get close enough to the ditch to see that it's not the river. Now off to find the reservoir.
