!! Exciting New Cache Series!!

“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”

The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado.  This series will introduce you to many of them.

The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.

COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST is not affiliated with any other ‘Spirit Quest’ group.  Special thanks and credit are given to SixDogTeam who started the Indiana Spirit Quest in 2004. The idea has rapidly spread into many states.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task.  It cannot be accomplished by just one or two people.  This project will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers  willing to place these caches.

After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

If you are interested in joining the “Walking Through History Clan” contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mo untain Passage”.  Use the ‘Send Message” link at the center of the page of their profile.

Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

REMEMBER:

If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series.

The cache container is a camoed 35mm film canister.  You will not need to cross the fence line to enter private property.

I found this location while I was looking through some topo maps. I know nothing about who is buried here

Decided to hit the road for a geocaching mini trip. Looks like I am getting a nice variety of traditionals, a few virtuals and ECs. I am really pleased to find Colorado Spirit Quests. Thanks to all the COs who placed these caches so I can have my geo-fun.

There is a new fence about 10 feet in front of the old one; this cache should really be moved.

Found 426!

This was my first Colorado find. Had to slide under the fence as a previous finder mentioned. May not be the best location now that there's a new fence.

Thanks for the cache!

The presence of a brand-new barbed wire fence made the retrieval of this one a little more problematic. But I went Commando and made the find. Tftc

Visiting from Michigan. Brought MaxB's Escorted Travel Bug Group Tour to Find Cache and work on the Colorado County Challenge. Today we cached in 5 new counties.

I stopped here on a drive from Cañon City, Colorado to Wichita today. This was the second of three CSQ caches on the day. If there was a marker here it seems to be gone now. I found the container quickly, but it had fallen from its perch. The log was pretty much mush so I left a pill bottle replacement. I didn't have any way to attach it so I left it directly below. I tried to find a rock to keep it in place but settled for a beer bottle. Let me know if you want the old container and log. Thanks for placing this one.

Saw a huge herd of deer! Logs are wet and moldy.
