To get to this cache it would be best reached by ATV or dirt bike. From the trail head it is approx. 5.5 miles to the cache site. To reach the trail head, take Hwy. 50 to Delta. East on Hwy. 92 to Colo. 65. North on Colo. 65 past Cedaredge to Road U 50. U 50 Road to Dr. 25.00 (1.4 mile). Continue on until you come to the round corral. This is the best parking area-N 39 00.193--W 107 51.439. The trail head is further up the road and will be on your left hand side, but it is usually filled with campers. There are a few stream crossings on the trail to the cache. There are a couple of view points of the valley below which are beautiful. At times the trail will take you through heavy aspens and then back into clearings. From about mid June you can continue on the trail after finding the cache and make a round trip out of it. Just a short distance from the cache are a couple of lakes. If you fish bring your poles! When taking this trail there is a lot to see, as the Grand Mesa area has so much to offer.
The cache is a 50 mm ammo box. Original contents are:
book light, skate board keyring, Denver Broncos Super Bowl XXXIII mug, Panpipes CD, child-safe lock, Hostess cupcake Yo-Yo, happy face reflector, eight digit calculator, and a bag of dog treats for your four legged friend should you bring them.
I hope for those that go to this cache enjoy it as much as I do. This is a beautiful area.

This log is a week late, this cache marks our 751st find on the 365th day since our first find with a 200+ consecutive day run and 100+ cache sets in between! We set a cache along the trail out to find this one to commemorate that 750 cache one year event - Tail in a crack - yet to be published.

After our first few finds on top of Grand Mesa early this summer, we set a goal of logging all the caches on the Western end of Grand Mesa to include flanks and some East of the hwy. This quickly expanded to all caches in the Grand Mesa NATIONAL FOREST - exclusive of a few way up in the NE corner. We have been stating in our logs for several weeks that we had completed everything West of Leon Peak (inclusive) but that was not quite true as knowing we could get this one easily, we have been saving it until I (Mr. ke of Team kekj) could team up with haubertheold to log this one. This was the day! and none to soon as the weather was closing in. Appreciated the cache and reason to 4wheel out this way, spent some time going through all the excellent SWAG. I took the MRE and left a "certified" carabiner and Hauberktheold left a pretty cool 8" helicopter. TFTC SL visited bugs.

p.s. The following day, (11-9) the full TEAM kekj went to the top of Leroux Creek to 4 wheel up north to Monument Trail Cache and get the 4 remaining caches needed to call Grand Mesa National Forest 100% cached out! We had previously been in that area coming from Surface Creek Corral and had DNFed 3, spending far to much time looking for them and thus skipped Monument trail due to being dark by the time we got in that area, miles from the cachemobile and 2 hours of 4wheeling on unknown trail, in the dark, low of fuel, over some of the worst kept trail we have ever encountered!
This trip was not uneventful either as we were pushing the rig WAY hard trying to make time back from monument cache to have time for Columbine and Goodenough and ended up popping a tire off the rim 5 miles from the Trail-head! Left rig and were prepared to walk out when other riders showed up and hauled us out (Cassandra and Ken of Cedaredge Tire - THANKS GUYS) went back in with Kirk Huff to rescue rig on Tuesday NIGHT (11-11) and managed to find - Close isn't Goodenough - under the snow, in the dark, with over 80' of GPS bounce and GZ off by over 30'? We are fairly certain that - Columbine is Close Enough - is missing but did not get the chance to take a second look so can not be 100% certain. CO says our pictures appear to be of GZ but is still thinking we overlooked it. See those logs for more info.

Karl (kekj) and I found this sweet cache today after a bumpy, sloshy, ride on his 4-wheeler in from the trailhead off of Old Grand Mesa Road, northwest of the cache. The day was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the scenery! The cache was still in good condition and we each dropped some goodies for the next person to find. I took a pedometer which I hope will work for me when I'm caching on foot. We restored the cache like we found it, and since there was snow around, we covered our tracks to keep muggles away. Thanks for the Cache and I will give it a Fav point.

Found with a friend and her grandparents. They loved it! Had a blast, they were surprised that there's something like that right off the trail they always ride. Took farm animals left lighter.
