Looks like lots of folks come this way to catch some rays! The northern side of the trail is closed for wildlife needs, so I headed south and parked in the lot off Monarch. I think this was a good day - the cold kept both the snakes and the muggles away. :) Everything was in good shape here. Thanks for the smiley! Find #3513.
Have a quiet weekend so I decided to grab a few for the 360 degrees of Colorado challenge. Hopped in the car kinda early and headed south. When I started out it was 64 degrees and sunny, the rain rolled in and it dropped down to 48 in a hurry. I enjoyed my hikes today, lots of flowers, rocks, cactus and birds to look at. I'll probably hit a few more tomorrow, it will be awesome to get to below 100 red rays!

I thought this one was so clever that I am giving it a favorite point! It is close to some construction, so beware of the muggles. Thanks for the cache.
I parked at Daniels Gate Park and hiked one section of the trail and then doubled back to the car. I was not sure I would have enough time to grab all the caches on my list, but I did. So I continued on and hiked the other side of the trail. The trail is in great condition and there were less than 5 areas of mud/snow and it was close to 75 degrees in the afternoon. For the first time in about 6 months, I actually broke a sweat while hiking. I found all of the caches that I went after (16/16). I was planning to grab 4 more that were part of a series, but that section of the trail is closed until April. I had a great day, and I love caching in the winter/early spring because there is less bushwhacking involved and the caches are not as well hidden. Also less muggles. Total mileage for the day was about 7.5 miles in about 4 hours. Thanks to everyone for the caches here on the trail.

It was a great day to be on the trail. A very light rain kept most people off. Just encountered a few bikers and one other person walking their dog. My geodog, Jack, always wants to play with any other dogs he encounters so I was fine not seeing hardly any others!
This was one I ALMOST didn't find. I paid too much attention to the description and not enough to the previous logs so I was looking in all the wrong places. Thankfully, I ended up spotting it after a few minutes. I had a good TOTT (Leatherman Squirt is a must have!) to extract the log and I replaced it where I found it. On to the next!
Thanks for the hide jahagen. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

3 for 3 in the series today. Onemore to go. I think this was most difficult so far. My son (turtleboy) cub scout troop picked up trash along here 6 or 7 years ago. Think it needs it again. TFTC
