Found with my uncle, benj59, back in October, 2018. I have my own account now and I'm catching up on some logs. He's helping me write them. :) I found this all on my own! Even my uncle didn't know what to do at first. This was really fun. Thanks for putting this here.

My family and I had a nice getaway trip to Fairplay for three nights this week. This included my parents, my brother and his wife and kids and my wife and kids. I had been really looking forward to this trip as I had anticipated getting my 2000th find and some other good caches in the area. Wednesday was a little too cold for everyone, but today was perfect! Beautiful blue skies and temperate fall weather made for great conditions for family geocaching.

This was the second of 7 we found on the day!

After hitting my 2000 milestone, we continued our hike a little farther towards this cache. My daughter and my nephew went ahead with me as the rest of the family took a little more time to get here. At GZ I spotted the contraption, but I honestly was thrown off by it at first. However, it was the six year old that figured it out! Go figure! :) He was so pleased and excited. You can see the joy on his face in the spoiler picture attached.

As the rest of my family arrived at GZ we all marveled at the construction and creativity of the hide. Everyone encouraged me to try a similar idea back home in the Denver area. I'd certainly love to try!

I see that the CO has not been active in quite some time. And yet, that is part of the beauty of geocaching - what you did many years ago is still bringing joy to families all these years later.

Gets a favorite for an excellent idea and execution.

We hiked up from the cache down the hill to this one. The aspens were awesome! Such a cute cache & all was in good shape. So surprised it hasn't been logged this year.
