Pancetta is an Italian or Spanish dry cured meat. It is pork belly that has been salt cured, salted and spiced (nutmeg, pepper, fennel, dried ground hot peppers and garlic are often featured), and dried for about three months. Each part of Italy produces its own type. In Corsica, it is considered a regional flavour. When served on its own, the rolled pancetta is presented in very thin slices. More often it is used to flavour other dishes, especially pasta sauces.
Top of Badger Mountain. Easiest access is off the service road on top of LaSalle Pass. 4x4 or ATV recommended for this road.

Quite a hike but found it. Beautiful!

Back in May we hiked to "In View of Badger Mountain". We had planned to do all 3 Caches along the trail, yet we started way too late in the day to do all of them. So we promised ourselves to come back another day to get the other 2. Today was the day. Back in May there was still snow on the ground, this time we were greeted by Aspens changing colors. At the gate we met the caretaker with his son on bikes. He had the combination for the gate, but we were not allowed to drive through with them. It would have been nice to drive up there. But we were meant to get some exercise anyway, so we walked. It was a long hike! The views along the way and especially at the cache site sure made up for the effort. The song "America the Beautiful" comes to mind up here. The cache was nicely hidden, full of swag, too. Thank you for showing us this scenic spot. This one gets a favorite.

Another adventure with OF-Erad and K9Jayhawk. Grabbed this one on the way. Headed to Badger Mountain to conquer this place for honey badgers everywhere. Badger Mountain threw a few obstacles at us but we managed to hike in and grab the caches. Thanks for putting this one out for us to find. Semper Fi- OMUSMC

Found with K9jayhawk and OscarMikeUSMC. Our original plan was to drive up Badger Mountain Road to this cache in OMUSMC's Toyota FJ, as well as all the others on this road, but our plans were foiled by a new locked gate that states the road is closed at N 39° 04.284 W 105° 32.412.
We decided we would walk the road to the top of the mountain and grab the caches along the way. That idea was our worst one yet... We are all beat, but the caches and views helped ease the muscle pains. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find today. SL, TFTC!
