Found it but my clumsy self dropped the lid and it rolled away. Put a placeholder in but should probably find something better. Good hide and TFTC.

APR 2018: Back out for another try and with the CO help we found it. Like everyone else says, "HOW DID WE MISS THAT?!" So much fun. Thanks for the quick response, wonderful hint and for putting out a great cache to find!

JAN 2018: Felt like a hunting dog that has chased a raccoon up the tree as we kept circling the dying trunk looking for a possible cache container...nothing found.
