This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

From talking to another cacher at an event yesterday, we realized that this is a 2 stage puzzle cache. We found an empty container at our solved coords (which is stage 1?) on 10/26/18 and thought that it was the final, so we just replaced the log. The clue at stage 1 needs to be replaced.
Top to container and clue to stage 2 are missing. Needs maintenance from CO.

We solved this puzzle a while ago but are just getting around to looking for it. Quick find today but the top and log were missing. Replaced with log in a ziplock and stuffed a rock in the container to keep the log in place. CO may want to do a little maintenance on this one. Thanks for the fun puzzle cache.

DNF @ 7:39:00 PM on 6/25/2018:
Eight years ago when Cashlet "A" and I visited Colorado Springs I had solved this cache but never found it. I had stashed it away and found myself back in the area today so I rechecked the coordinates at the parking lot and up I went.
Lots of hikers and dog walkers along the trail this evening. At the coordinates I found the first part and quickly solved the next step (or so I thought). I was getting tired so the extra walking wasn't really what I was looking to do but, hey, that's how it rolls.
Off to the second part where I searched in the fading sun for probably 45 minutes and wasn't able to turn up anything. I searched along the radius but couldn't find the cache.
It was getting late and I was tired so I decided to take the DNF.
Fast-forward a couple of days as I'm writing this log. I was just looking back at the photos I took at the first stage and realized I didn't do the right thing. Crap, I searched the wrong area (which is a bit weird because the previous logs sort of matched the description and I wasn't far off a trail). Oh well. Next time I'm out in Colorado Springs I'll add it to my list, hopefully it won't take eight more years.

What a fun find today! I kidnapped Mr imyy4u2 and took him on a short hike today. We knew we wanted to hit section 16, but we quickly veered off course on the hunt for geocaches.
I didn't realize that this cache had multiple puzzles, and I was a little worried when I found something laminated at my solved coordinates. Luckily, I have become fluent in the math needed to solve for the final. In another stroke of luck, I knew just what tool to use to find the final - I just never needed to use it until now. I plugged in the information and went to the next location. Imyy4u2 and I fanned out, and he spotted the actual final in one of the many possible hiding locations. Excellent!
Looked at the logbook and verified that this cache had not been found for 845 days! It's bittersweet, as this cache may have been able to make it to 1,000 days without a find - but I'm always happy to find any cache that's been sitting idle for over a year! That's also great to know that the hiding location is well-protected from muggles and the elements.
I swapped out a mini-flashlight for a lanyard while imyy4u2 signed the log for us. The flashlight was added to a collector Trackable and we went back down the trail to head home. Thanks for the puzzle, the surprise additional puzzle, and the well-placed final. In hindsight; I wish I had dropped that TB here. Oh well - maybe we will swing by again on another adventure.
We've only awarded one other favorite point to a Geocache this year. Partly because we haven't done as much caching as years past, and partly because as time goes on it simply takes more effort to make me go 'that was neat!'. Today, I award one of my stingy favorites to this cache - because A: it's the first time I've successfully utilized waypoint projection and B: I love finding caches that haven't been found for a long time. Final reason C: this cache my 3,000th Colorado find (3,250th overall)! That is an interesting and fun stat for someone like me who celebrates those odd things.

Been a long time since i picked up a lonely cache. Over 2 years on this one! Out with Mike of Mikeandjuli today, doing a little hiking and a little caching. Container and contents in good shape. Thanks for the cache! Our most exciting one of the day!

I solved this one awhile back and have had it on my list. We made it to the GZ, but couldn't finish it today. My shoulders were starting to kill me! I'll be back to finish this one soon though. Loving it so far! See picture for why I couldn't finish it.
Marauder Jude had too much excitement today!

The trail was a bit mucky today in places, but was able to get up to the solved coordinates and then on to the final. The contents of the final are a little damp moldy, but log is signable. Thanks for the innovative puzzle and cache!

In preparation for visiting Colorado Springs from Atlanta, GA, I looked up local puzzles in the area and this one caught my eye. Fun/Quick solve followed by what appeared to be a fun hike with the promise of some great views. Solved the puzzle while in Atlanta and contacted the CO to inquire as the best parking. He was gracious enough to make a great suggestion.
Arrived at parking on a beautiful Saturday morning. The parking lots were full and the locals were hiking, biking, running, and exploring...so I joined in on the fun. Hit a couple other caches in the area and enjoyed the walk to the solved coords...where I got the opportunity to enjoy a field puzzle. After doing some field math and making a projection, I tracked down the physical container and added my autograph to the wall of fame
. Great location! Beautiful views!! Thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle followed by the amazing outdoor experience. Took a few photos including a selfie (see attached). Deserving of a favorite point. TFTC & smilie #3,758.

TFTPC This was a fun puzzle that I solved last year. I finally found my way to the final today before the rains came back. The cache is in good shape. I enjoyed the hike up here; I have never been in this area so it was great to see the wonderful views. I took the TB to move it on its way. This also helps with the 7 Souvenirs of August; only one more to go. Now off to find Another Piece of Pi!

We needed some help from the CO initially. After that everything fell into place. Took the calculator with us but forgot the compass. But we were lucky and found the final after a bit of searching. We sure enjoyed this one. We picked up a travel-bug and left a geocoin. Thanks for the cache.
