The Rio Grande Trail spans the Roaring Fork Valley connecting Aspen to Glenwood Springs. In the middle of this amazing trail is the old town of Emma, where the Town of Basalt is now located. Here you'll find A Bridge Between Two Counties. On one side of Sorpis Creek is Pitkin County, on the other side is Eagle County. The trail follows the corridor of the historic Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, whose first train reached Aspen in October 1887, going right along this path and through this old forgotten town of Emma.

Great large cache on a beautiful part of the Rio Grande Trail. Kids loved it! Lots of goodies in there. Left 2 trackables to continue on their adventure!
