Left the North Cheyenne Canyon parking lot at sunrise this morning with 2 goals: summit Mt. Rosa before the weather rolled in and pick up a few specific higher-altitude caches for a challenge I've been working on. Skipped a bunch of caches along the way due to previously posted DNFs, which freed up quite a bit of time to explore elsewhere - after summitting, I dropped south to Pike's Cave and then down to FR 381 (recon'd it back to where the trail crosses it - it's in great shape!), detoured to St. Mary's Falls, and even finally got to Four Paws. What a GREAT hike! I had been putting this one off due to trail reports talking about bullets whizzing overhead(!!) but those must have been from the Frosty Park approach - today's hike was quiet and felt totally safe. My fitbit clocked me in at 20.15 miles by the time the rain encouraged me to go back to the car. Thanks for placing this cache - found it on the way back down. Can you imagine the commute if you lived in the nearby cabin? :-P

So It took me two try’s to find this bad boy. Got it. Opened the can and it was bone dry other then the log book. I put an mountain tab and a uso American bandana in there for the next. Did enjoy it and had fun.

In typical fashion I made this find much harder than it needed to be. Left the main trail way too soon and bushwhacked my way through what felt like a fallen forest before finding the cabin. Then I looked up the hill and seriously doubted I wanted the find that badly. But I was too close to give up so up I went. Coords were good enough that it was an easy find. Thanks for placing this cache here and making my hike up Mt Rosa that much more enjoyable!

Tried to get this one in February 2014 on a hike with ernie66. After he dropped about 3 feet into the hidden creek bed, we decided to give up. Today was a much nicer day - no snow, sunny and warm. No problem finding the cache. You took us so far up the hill, we decided to just keep going to the top of Cookstove mountain. Somebody reactivated a geocache up there :-) That was a fun hike and the cache was in great condition. Thank you.

Hiked on up here with weizen, OR85OR450 & my huggle (husband/muggle) after the C&C event at the falls. This was really my goal because I had just hiked to the falls in May but had run out of time and strength to go any further because we had already hiked 6 miles in the area. So today was the day. After stopping at the previous 2 caches, Finding the cabin wasn't too hard, it was the final uphill that was a real challenge while the other 2 just rabbited up. I swear I climbed 50' only to have my GPS get closer to GZ by 10'! But I do feel vindicated as I was the one to actually spot the cache & got to make the "I found it" call.

Phew - glad four of us made the extra credit hike after the DGS event. We spread out and the goods were got. I think my gpsr was showing 29 feet at the pod - it was downhill and off to the left/ as you're facing up at the indicated GZ. Cache is in fine condition.
