Me and my friend were nearing the end of our 7th grade year when we were assigned to complete a "Personal Legend." We decided to camp in a tent off by ourselves for the night with no help setting up or taking down camp, no help cooking, and no adult interference once we set out on our own. I also decided to set off from camp and climb Little Scraggy Peak the next day, retrieving "Dusty's Scraggly Adventure" (geocache GC1M2B5), which had not recorded a visitor in nearly 6 years. On the return, I wanted to place my own new geocache, donating $100 to a charity (like a food bank) to help with the current Coronavirus pandemic. The donation will be made in the name of the First to Find my new cache.

The overnight camping went well, and we successfully completed our solos. I also succeeded in recording a well-earned smiley on Dusty's Scraggly Adventure, which I recommend highly for anybody who loves a good adventure. What a blast! My hope in placing this cache where I did was to encourage a few people to give Dusty's a try.  It's only about a half-mile from this cache, but what a half-mile! I recovered 3 TBs from Dusty, along with another from a cache nearby, and placed all 4 in this new cache to make an attractive prize for the FTF. Remember, I'll also donate $100 to a local food bank or similar charity in the name of the FTF!

Bring your own pen as the cache doesn't contain one. I also forgot to add a real log so feel free to enter your names and dates on the scrap paper I included, and I'll transfer everything to a real log as soon as I return with one.

The cache is hidden in some big rock outcrops just a few hundred feet from the Little Scraggy Loop mountain bike (or hiking) loop. The shortest way to the cache is to start at the suggested parking area waypoint for this cache (which is the same as suggested for Dusty's Scraggly Adventure). If you want to retrieve the cache while mountain biking, I suggest starting at or near the Little Scraggy Loop trailhead waypoint. This is an awesome mountain bike trail, and also a fun scramble, which becomes even more fun if you continue on to Dusty's! Either way the terrain rating is about a 2; The difficulty is about a 2 as well since the GPS signals bounce around a lot in this area.

Have fun and post pictures if you like!

Congratulations to DigDug15 and madissondelisle on the FTF! I've donated $100 in their names to Food Bank of the Rockies to help with pandemic relief. Well done!

Additional Waypoints

P08R3Y6 - Parking Option
N 39° 19.333 W 105° 15.205
This is the same parking suggested for Dusty's Scraggly Adventure and is closer to the cache than the suggested trailhead. If this is full, there is also parking directly across the road (CR 126).
T08R3Y6 - Little Scraggy Loop Trailhead
N 39° 20.615 W 105° 15.433
Little Scraggy Loop is a fantastic mountain bike or hiking trail. You can park in the paid parking near the trailhead, or a bit further away for free in the dirt pullouts off CR 126. Taking the trail is longer than the alternative parking option suggested for this cache, but is an exceptionally rewarding mountain bike ride.

Why do ducks have tail feathers? To hide their butt quacks! Look for the quack...deeper, deeper...this one is way back there!

CO FTF with Madisson on this cache! Also a very cool side-story with this find: Madisson and I set out yesterday to find the nearby Dusty's Scraggly Adventure cache which hadn't been found since 2014. We found the cache just before noon but were shocked to see that another cacher had already signed and dated the log for the same day! We remarked several times on the hike out what an amazing coincidence this was.

I messaged MLCCrashers, the other finders of Dusty's Scraggly Adventure cache yesterday, and we shared stories of our find. They also said that they had created a new cache nearby that got published today. Madisson and I, of course, were up for the challenge.

We set out after work today to make the find. Since we were here the day before, we knew where to park and we knew the general lay of the land. After a brief search at ground zero we made the find. We signed the empty log, took 1 trackable each, and dropped 1 newly activated trackable of our own. The cache is tucked away pretty good. The cache coordinates seemed accurate although the GPS signal bounces a bit in these here woods.

Cool cache concept, cool cache location, and also a good story to tell about this cache and the one we found yesterday. Thanks MLCCrashers for placing this cache and helping make geocaching a fun adventure for everyone!

Set out the day we were alerted this was published/hidden.

Very fun little trip with DigDug15 and the dogs. This cache is not easy to just spot, hidden well, and definitely requires a keen eye.

Super fun. First, first find! (I’m a newb) ???
