Had a morning meeting, so was not able to get the early start necessary to take on this park... so just grabbed the caches on the way up Carpenter Peak. The snow was an issue for a few and maybe even the reason for the DNFs, but it was still a fun day. When we got to the top, it started to snow and was sunny again by the time we reached the car. What a day. Thanks for all the caches.

A nice hike with Atomic Corgi and his family, who was visiting for a couple of days. It was nice to return to this spot after striking out a few months ago when the snow and ice were a little too hard to overcome. The closing time of the park was also considerably earlier so it was also nice to not be rushing this time.
I'll say his family did really well and we kept a consistent pace the entire time, not bad considering they are coming from sea level! A few icy spots gave us a little trouble but we were trekking along without much difficulty for the most part. We had just taken a break around the bend from here but this seemed like a great place to grab a cache before making the final ascent up.
Atomic Corgi actually spotted this one as soon as we started searching and it and it made for a quick find and sign. Glad we got to get a picture with everyone out caching, that was cool. We had the peak to ourselves when we made it to the top and enjoyed seeing Denver and the surrounding cities across the mountainside.

Quick find while trekking up the yellow brick road. Great little series. Using this one for the Week 35 GGA Challenge. Thanks for the smiley! [2935]

Out caching today with FeartheFish and like usual driving his butt all over the place. Dragged him up the side of the mountain so that he could find all the yellow brick road caches before he adopts them. TFTC!

Apparently I am no longer able to find a cache without being accompanied by the lovable and always cheerful herndonrd. Today was no exception, as I was out and about caching with herndonrd simply because I make him look good. He typically finds the caches while I look in all the wrong places. We were on a special mission today as we were both finding and maintaining the caches in this series so I could adopt them from the cache owner (i.e. you). In some cases we put new containers in place and/or adjusted coordinates slightly. Please check the P.P.S. section of this log for any changes.
After we did the whole sign and replace thing here we celebrated our victory by hiking off to another one. Thanks for the fun hide and for getting me outside on such a beautiful day.
P. S. No animals (humans or otherwise) were harmed in the writing of this log.
P. P. S. Found original cache. No changes made here.
