Follow highway 74E till the Boy Scout Camp turn to Elkhorn Creek Trail head. There are 2 trails...one will cross a small stream so you may get wet in spring run off, the other you won't have to cross the stream... this isn't a hard hike if you are having to blaze a trail you are to high.
Great hike with many trail oppurtunities. Disappointment Falls & Lady Moon are marked trails with a map at site. This is a favorite family camping spot.

Thanks for the nice cache. We got to the falls, washed the dog as best we could (rolling in stuff is fun!) then had lunch. The falls were less disappointing than I had been led to believe. After lunch we continued up the trail just a little further to look for the cache. Lots of places to look, especially for a micro! But my wife made the find relatively quickly. Turned around after this and headed back north to our trailhead.

The log was wet, so we let it air out for a while. Still damp, but better.

Had a great hike and enjoyed the day, but unfortunately didn't find the cache. Thanks anyway!

With a Monday off from work, I decided to scout out a new hiking area that had a nice collection of caches. I had the trails to myself on this crisp fall day and managed to find eight great caches. Very cool spot that I never would have seen if it weren't for geocaching. TFTC!

Finally returned after our failed attempt back in December. This time the snow was gone, the wildflowers were out, and the falls were perfect. Met some nice wilderness volunteers at the falls but waited until they moved on before we began our search. My GPS has been bouncing around a lot today so we were a little bit all over the place. However, my oldest son discovered this one and we were able to sign the log. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot.

So if I had looked more closely at the attributes of this cache I would have known that I probably didn't want to attempt this one in the winter. However, we enjoyed the hike and there were a few other caches we grabbed on the drive up. We had the trailhead all to ourselves and grabbed Triggur's cache on the way in. I made sure the kid's were well prepared for the cold and wind. The trails were not well marked and covered in snow so we may have taken a couple unofficial trails on our way here. The kid's and the geo-pup enjoyed hanging out in the old cabin on the way to the cache. We will return to this one in the summer and even saved the other cache near the trailhead for that time. Thanks for placing it and we look forward to our return trip in the summer.
