Isisfan and I got invited to go on a Team Red Rubicon adventure- we were so excited. We saddled up my mule, packed some extra sorghum and black strap molasses, and met them at the trail head.

As we got going, I noticed that we were going in reverse for a long time. I asked zoltig why we were going in reverse, he smiled mischievously, then indicated that I should put on my seatbelt and handed me a sick bag.

We proceeded to do Chinaman’s Gulch counter-clockwise…and in reverse.

We bumped our way through the Rock Garden, played in the Rock Pile, got really scared on the Whale's Tail, climbed the Stairs, and then slid up the Chutes.

By the rock chutes, one cacher started to whine about going in reverse; RocketMan halted the journey, and berated the whiner. Calling him all manner of names, to include but not limited to: yellow bellied sap sucker, blue footed booby, and rufous sided towhee.

Then, as if on cue, the group hog-tied the offending cacher, carried him to a nearby mineshaft and tossed him down the mine. Isisfan and I stood by in neophyte bewilderment. Not wanting to offend the Lord of the Flies style of group management, or draw unnecessary attention to ourselves we got back in to the rubicons promptly.

By this point, I was feeling pretty scared, but knowing that the run was almost over, didn’t start panicking completely. Since we were going in reverse it was hard to read the signs as they were flying by, but I was able to catch a glimpse of one which read, “Carnage Canyon - Body Damage Imminent”.

When the trail is called, “Ho-Hum Hike” or “Lullaby Loop” you can guess at the terrain, and when the trail is called “Carnage Canyon”- you know you better have brought a change in pants.

While JeepIt, zoltig, TaylorsGeoTracker, MtnRoamer, RedRuby, QZ, Big Mark, CubBoy, N0wae, Bobo, and RocketMan proceeded to run Carnage, I stayed put and planted this cache.

Spent the day jeeping on Chinaman Gulch with Team Red Rubicon and grabbed a few caches along the way. I had most of them already....but I didn't have this one yet. Took a few minutes of searching but Team Laxson finally found it!

Out playing on Chinaman Gulch with Team Red Rubicon and finding a few caches here and there. This little spur was pretty mellow, but carnage canyon is not. I don't think I'll be driving my Jeep on that trail any time soon.

Coords are pretty accurate on this one. Too bad elevation wasn't part of it :-) Even for its size it still took a while for the 6 of us to find it.
Contents are still nice and dry!

After the 4x4 camping event I hung around BV to do some caching. I've wanted to hike Carnage ever since we took a borrowed ATV around Chinaman's Gulch. I was lucky to get to watch 4 extreme vehicles work their way through some of the obstacles. It was so amazing I took video. When I stopped for this cache the 1st two were coming up the "hill?" And hit the top just as I returned the cache. I chatted with them for a good while, telling them I was geocaching & they telling me a bit about their ventures. It was great. I used the suggested coordinates & hint from another cacher & found it in great shape.

Out with Olive today on the last day of WINTER.[:p] This is what I call an OFF ROAD. There was NO way I was going to drive the RUSHMAN truck up that road!! Made for a GREAT hike though. Olive likes these kinds of caches where she can run wild and WHIPPET!! Found all of the caches in great condition and we found all but ONE. Thanks for the awesome hides and great containers.[8d][8d] SL TFTC TNLN

Out with a group doing Chinaman Gulch and decided to stop and avenge the DNF from last year. Thanks to Treazure Hunterz for providing correct coordinates so Redcx could make the find. TFTC
