This is the eighth cache of our "Ferrous" series.  

The cache is NOT hidden at the posted coordinates.  To find the cache, follow the directions below:

 

At the posted coordinates, you will find a TOBACCO FREE SITE sign.  Begin your trek near this sign.

Go down 13 steps.  Continue about 10 feet.  Go down 13 steps.  Continue about 10 feet past the bench.  Go down 13 steps.  Continue about 10 feet.  Go down 5 steps.  

Turn left and go about 110 feet.  Turn right.  Go down 13 steps.  Continue about 75 feet.

Turn right at the NO SMOKING sign.  Continue in this direction for a little less than one-half mile.  Along the way you will pass a WASTEWATER PIPELINE marker, a ENJOY OUR GREAT OUTDOORS sign, a guardrail on your right and two POSTED NO TRESPASSING signs.  At the red and white NOTICE! sign, turn right.  Cross over 90 slats.  Stop.  The container is on your left.  

After signing the log, please re-hide the container EXACTLY as you found it.

You have to love a classic letterbox cache like this one complete with stamp and pad. This one is like they all used to be years ago, so well deserving of a favorite point :-) Thanks to gampa & gamma for creating this "old school" version of a letterbox cache!!

I really liked this letterbox. To me, this is just what they are supposed to be like, counting steps, slats, etc. Took me right to the well-hidden cache at the end of the walk.

**FTF**Saw this had published just as I was returning home after running errands. Did a quick U-turn and headed over. Knew right where to go as was in this parking lot earlier in the week. This time I did find a blank log. Fun to see a letterbox so well done. This helps get me 1 closer on a letterbox challenge I’m working on. Thanks gampa&gamma for the fun new cache. Favorite point for sure.
