Paco Sanchez Park (2020)
The ultimate playground in Denver has grown to a 30 acre adventure playground is themed around music after the park's namesake, Paco Sanchez who started the first Spanish language radio station in Denver in 1954.
Connections to the West Line Light Rail station at Knox Court and the Lakewood Gulch trail provide regional accessibility.
Amenities:
swings, slides, sculptures, skateboard park, zip line, restrooms, lots of colors. To pay tribute, many of the park’s elements were created with radio and music in mind. The most extraordinary would definitely be the 33' giant 1950’s inspired microphone dominating the middle of the playground. It is filled with a spiral slide, net climbers and is not for the faint of heart!
2 parking lots and street parking for the playground and sculptures. But the parking for the bridge is best accessed from W. Avondale on the North side or W 12th Ave from the south end of bridge. The Bridge crosses over Lakewood Gulch and the Light Rail tracks and opens up into green open space with lots of walking paths. Street parking only on the south side.
Check out the playground while you are here.
Bikers going to work and dog walkers. Nice open green space on the south end of park.
