The geocache is placed in honor of by geocaching companion - Loki.  He is a 9-year old red healer/boxer mix who loves to accompny me on my geocaching excursions.  Together, we've logged a lot of miles through these foothills and mountains, particularly along Hwy 103.  We visited a geocache at this very spot back in July 2015 (the now-archived "Beaver Brook Lake Vista").

I already have a geocache named after my other pup, Kota, down in the valley below.  So now its' Loki's turn.

The reservoir below is a drinking water source for Lookout Mountain.  They have recently posted signs all around the reservoir warning of fines if they catch you or your dogs swimming in the water - so beware!  That just makes this an even more approriate location for "Loki," as he is a hydrophobe who will only go in water up to his ankles, even if I enourage him to get wet (Kota is another matter).  There is a trail around the west side of the reservoir that connects to the Beaver Brook Trail and the trails leading up to Saddleback Mountain and Floyd Hill.  So you can hike a long ways and find a lot of caches when you start here.

[FTF] @ 12:35! WOO-HOO! I was out of town when these new hides published, and today I decided to take a stroll and search for FTF gold on my lunch break. I work 10 minutes from here and have spent a lot of time hiking, fishing, and Geocaching around the little reservoir. I made the short walk down the trail and in typical Geodog fashion, I was able to turn it into a T/11. I climbed up the large boulders surrounding GZ, and spent a few minutes walking in circles. Finally I spotted the nice sized cache out of the corner of my eye. I happily added my name in pole position, snapped a few pics, grabbed the TB, and replaced as found. On the way out I found a little side trail off of the main trail that made things much, much easier! Stoked for another new hide in the hood from Wulff Pack, happy to award this Rad Cache with it's first favorite! TFTC
