Read this description entirely BEFORE leaving cell coverage area, there is ZERO cell coverage in the canyon. Very few legal or safe spots to turn around in the canyon itself. Many pullouts are marked NO PARKING.
There are safe legal pullouts for parking near GZ, park clear of traffic.
Park clear of the road, bicyclists, motorcycles and cars need all of the pavement for passage. They come very quickly, PARK SAFELY on west bound areas nearest cache GZ. GZ is NOT down any where near Bear Creek itself. No rock climbing needed. Terrian is 1.5
Bear Creek Canyon Road has exsisted for more than 100 years in one form another. First notable inprovement was 1914 and was vastly improved with the CCC boys in the 1930's. You can see much of the incredible original stone work as you drive down stream and looking over the edge. This road was used by folks coming up from Denver to get out of the summer city heat of Denver. For many years people would come up this road to ge to the resort Troutdale located above Evergreen Lake. After finding this cache consider traveling up the road to Evergreen and the beauty of Evergreen Lake near my home.
