LnL container with green top. Up hill off a forest service road (852) on East side of Lake Vallecito
Rocky terrain, area was burned in 2002 (in Missionary Ridge Fire). Altitude about 7800 ft. Be cautious during windy times due to standing burned dead timber.
2018 update - New container and log booked replaced in May. Since this cache was first hidden the scrub oak and aspen have returned to the burn area and the big split granite boulder is really only visible in the early spring before the aspen leaf out. Sixteen years of Mother Nature reclaiming the area have made the cache a bit harder to find even though it is in the exact same spot as it was the day it was hidden in 2010.

The forest road may be deeply rutted and very muddy in wet weather so be cautious here unless you have a very high clearance vehicle. Suggest you park just past the newly installed cattle loading fence area and walk up the road. You're about 1/4 mile from the cache at this point. The difficulty has been increased to 2.5 since the vegetation is higher and the terrain is an easy 3 if you access this cache via the forest road. If you are walking up from the campground (and not on the road) it is probably terrain 3.5-4 due to the elevation change.

Take your time and savour the views from this area. It is pretty spectacular!

Checked on the cache this morning and it made it through the cold very snowy in great shape. Container is dry and exactly when it was placed 9 years ago. Added a TB today. Happy caching!
