Alas, after over 10 years and 274 finds, yet another “snake” has “died”.  Writeup had been modified accordingly, final is still at the same location.  (And CR still hasn’t called me.)

SO,

1. Go to the given coords

2. Count the number of vertical black “snakes”;  this is “N”

3. Final is ABC feet from the given coords;  bearing from given coords to final is XYZ degrees

         where         A = 5 - N

                           B = 6 - N

                           C = 3 - N

and

                           X = N

                           Y = 3 - N

                           Z = N + 3

 

Very straightforward nano.  Log only, no pen.  Watch for muggles, very popular area.

NOTE: No real snakes were harmed in placing this cache.

Found I was being too literal with my interpretation yesterday and that M2’s was spot on. User error as I learn a new GPSr led us to the wrong spot using her version so our search came up empty.

Didn’t need to leave until 9:30 this morning and being on NY time got me up well before sunrise. Was out the door in time to catch the last of the stars and watch the sky change into a broad range of colors. I’ve always enjoyed the wonderful sunrises and sunsets I get to see along one of the Great Lakes but I think the ones you get here may be even better!

Found myself in a spot I’d admired in my loops through the area. I’m going to miss these walks. Took some area photos as the sky changed colors and then signed in before replacing the container as found.

Thanks for the great set of caches that helped us explore this portion of Boulder during our visit from Rochester, NY!

Walked by the area on a hike yesterday and wasn’t sure I had the right information. Brought M2 back today for her input. We came up with different ideas and tried both. One brought us to a fairly promising area but didn’t find our prize. Tried her idea and almost needed to get wet feet to make a search. Not sure what we overlooked but we really enjoyed our time exploring the trails in the Boulder area. At least the temperature change here has helped prepare us for the changes at home!
