The Pyrenean Ibex was a subspecies of the Spanish Ibex, found in abundance in the Pyrenees mountain range between France and Spain. Inability to compete with other species in the region and extensive poaching led to depletion of Pyrenean Ibex population to a great extent, with less than 100 individuals surviving by 1900 and eventually less than 40 in 1910. Various conservation measures ensured that the animal lived for another few decades, but the population remained negligible throughout the century, before finally getting extinct in 2000, when the last living individual of this species got crushed beneath a falling tree. An attempt to clone Pyrenean Ibex seemed successful with a young one being born in January 2009, but died within a few hours of its birth due to lung failure.

The "fourth was with us" on this beautiful Colorado spring day. We visited and found 30 caches, this was one of them. Thanks to all the owners for placing and maintaining these for us to enjoy. It was lovely here today... rolling green grasslands, lots of barns and windmills, and many horses, goats, sheep, even llamas were seen. TFTC SL

Snow day, so catching up on logs.

Found this fun little series with animjason while we were in the area. I love impromptu caching adventures.

BearAdair and I weren't doing anything today. We were driving around Parker doing errands when the caching itch hit.

We ended up in this area finding extinct animals, and defeating an alien invasion.

Thanks for the fun. Ended up with 13 finds before it started getting dark.

Today after grabbing a puzzle cache in Parker, I headed to the plains to grab several caches. During my day I saw two Kestrels (I thought they were Merlins, but they aren't), a Golden Eagle, a Red Tailed Hawk, several deer and a bunch of Magpies.
No problem here! TFTC!

Cute container. I got 38 caches today; enough to earn the final Hidden Creatures World Turtle souvenir, yay! JC had a good time with me today; she's snoozing beside me as I log today's caches. TFTC.

Headed out this way on a nice day to rack up some caches. This fish was certainly a long ways from water. Nice, tftc sl.
