In 1854, a machinist in Connecticut (USA) named Daniel Halladay was asked by a traveling salesman to invent a windmill for pumping water and other uses. At first, he was skeptical that such a device could be sold, but he began manufacturing his new invention in Connecticut. Soon, he moved his factory to Illinois to be closer to the rapidly growing western market. His windmill first demonstrated that a windmill could automatically turn to face changing wind directions without human attention and could control the speed of the wind wheel so that it did not destroy itself in the frequent storms by running too fast.
Halladay’s company, the U.S. Wind Engine & Pump Co., went on to become the largest manufacturer of windmills in America for a time.

Snow day, so catching up on logs.

Found this fun little series with animjason while we were in the area. I love impromptu caching adventures.

BearAdair and I weren't doing anything today. We were driving around Parker doing errands when the caching itch hit.

We ended up in this area finding extinct animals, and defeating an alien invasion.

Thanks for the fun. Ended up with 13 finds before it started getting dark.

Today after grabbing a puzzle cache in Parker, I headed to the plains to grab several caches. During my day I saw two Kestrels (I thought they were Merlins, but they aren't), a Golden Eagle, a Red Tailed Hawk, several deer and a bunch of Magpies.
All is well here! Clever container! TFTC!

With more snow expected tonight, today was a good opportunity to head out this way for a few caches. There was still some snow on the ground from the last storm, but it was melted enough to cause no difficulties. Found this one where it was supposed to be. Thanks for another Windmill View.

I got 38 caches today; enough to earn the final Hidden Creatures World Turtle souvenir, yay! JC had a good time with me today; she's snoozing beside me as I log today's caches. TFTC.

Found using the previous log. We put it back as close to GZ as we could get it. Easy find thanks

Like the previous cachers, we found it lying in a pile of dead bushes some distance from GZ. We moved it up by the fence close to the coordinates where it will hopefully remain for quite some time.
