Trail to the cache can be accessed from two locations (trailheads). The first trail head is behind the Best Western Oakridge Motel(N 37 15.908, W 107 00.482). The second trailhead is in the San Juan Motel RV Park. Follow either trail to the top of the hill. Cache is located at the San Juan River Overlook. Hike is 0.6 mile.
Cache is contained in a green ammo can. It contains a logbook, pen, pencil, and several trading items. Perhaps the best part of this cache site is the view of the San Juan Mountains and the city of Pagosa Springs. Enjoy both!

Beautiful weather today. Note: We took the trailhead behind Beat Western and encountered people putting up a HUGE event tent and fencing off a large area about 1/2 up to this cache. Not sure if this is temporary or permanent but we had to work our way around it. SLTN. This is a nice big cache and only had a brochure and a large bolt in it. We stuffed it full of new swag for our fellow cachers to trade out with. Great view from up here. TFTC!

We really enjoyed the overlook. Some of the trails were a bit muddy, but we made it back down without slip sliding away. The cache was pretty visible, so I left it with some natural camouflage. Thanks for a beautiful view.

Traveling from Denver to Durango for business and stopping along the way at interesting caches and new counties. First cached in Archuleta county. Pulled up and GPS said it was only .1 miles but wow straight up. Close to end of the day so we took it on and made the winding path to the top for a nice view and a smile. Easier walking back down and got a good workout. Thanks for the hide.
