Situated at almost 11,000 ft., the Cloudland Picnic Site is a great place to have lunch or to simply relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Located along Squaw Pass Road, this site has 11 picnic tables and fire pits tucked among the trees. Be on the lookout for the gray jay in the summer; although gray jays are year-round residents, in the summer they spread the word to their fellow gray jay friends that this lunch spot is the place to be. The reason: stealing food from unsuspecting picnicers as they try to enjoy their meal. This bird is affectionately named the 'Camp Robber', and their claim to fame is literally swooping down to snatch your food. Cache container is a small light-camo cylinder located approximately 3--4 ft. off the ground. It is just beyond the easternmost picnic table. Enjoy this peaceful area within arms-reach of the clouds, and watch your back when taking the next bite of your lunch! BYOP.

05/14/2020 By GeoDog74 FTF!! Had the afternoon off and wanted to get out and get some fresh air. I noticed a couple of new publishes up here, and I wanted to come take a look. This is another great spot for a cache, Bravo Mt. Porg's! I absolutely love the Bristlecone Pine Trees at this spot, some are 1500-1700 years old! I also ran into a couple of "camp robbers" who were wondering if i had a hand out! I stamped my name in pole position and kept moving... TFTC!
