Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Significant hike  No Drinking water nearby  No Telephone nearby  Bicycles

Cache at a high point.
You will find this cache after a bit of a hike or bike ride and a ways off of Segment 2 of the Colorado Trail. I hid this cache at the same time that I relocated the Front Range Moving Target cache in the same area. The FRMT was a rare moving cache that is now archived.

I have included a waypoint not too far from the Quartz Quarry View cache. This is where I parked my bike and hiked up the hill. There might be a better way.

The cache is very near the top of this hill at 6944 feet in elevation. 360 degree view.

Post a photo from the cache location!

Decided to haul my horse to the Platte River TH for a ride & hopefully pick up these newer caches (since I've ridden here last I guess). I decided on a different approach than suggested & left my pony tied about 200' above the trail. It was a pretty steep climb but I made it. I was having a hard time finding the cache at GZ so I read the hint. It didn't help either so I read hartsdale's log and bingo there it was in the "lodge." I returned it to a spot closer to GZ beside a rock, behind a small bush, but if it's missing again you know where to look.
I can't believe people are so bent on being destructive they broke 1/2 of the BM off!

Found with evgnhiker on a late afternoon hike up the hillside. We took the advice and hiked up what appeared to be the gentler side and it was still quite a chore. I've only hiked this segment of the trail a few times, but I have never noticed the structure before, but it is very evident once you know it is there. Great views from the top. Thanks for the hide!

Worked my way up to this one and there were four people in the shelter on top.

I went to GZ and searched and found nothing?

As I walked pass the shelter there was the container just sitting out in the open.

I signed the log and one of them grabbed the container and placed in the shelter.

I guess everyone thinks it's a summit log.

Thanks for a very interesting cache to find!

It was quite a climb up to this one, but I wasn't going to leave one behind in the middle of all my other finds. TFTC. On to the next.
