Very close to the road way at 9100' elevation... camoed container containing log book and pen and the regular trading schwag.
This cache is the first in the Cochetopa (Ute word for Pass of the Buffalo) series. It is located on one the most beautiful drives in Colorado, Gunnison to Saguache or the other way around on Colorado Hwy 114. The cache is named after the mountain to the west of the cache location.. Cochetopa Dome. There is a pull off big enough for a couple of cars in front of a wire gate. The cache is on the road right of way, no need to cross the fence. Take the time to look around you...Beautiful isn't it! May not be accessible in winter!

This had fallen into the waterway. The outside was set but the inside was still dry. I moved it back up a bit.

Since our visit to the USA one year ago we knew that we would come back this year. This time we visited the nothwestern part with all its beautiful places. For 5 weeks we took a trip through different landscapes and national parks. We still cannot internalize these unfogettable impressions. We would like to thank all owners for bringing us to that special places. Some of them we would not have found without a cache. We are looking forward to our next vacation in this great country.

This day we could visit that one.

Schon bei unserem USA Urlaub vor einem Jahr war klar, dass wir auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Dieses Mal sollte der Nordwesten mit all seinen Schönheiten besucht werden. 5 Wochen lang ging es für uns durch die unterschiedlichsten Nationalparks und Landschaften. Die ganzen Eindrücke konnten wir noch gar nicht verarbeiten. Wir möchten allen Ownern danken, dass sie uns an die speziellen Orte geführt haben, von denen wir viele ohne Cache wohl nicht gefunden hätten. Wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Urlaub in diesem großartigen Land.

Road from Saguache to Gunnison was passing through some isolated areas with variable surroundings. The area of valley we liked very much, especially herds of cows grazing in the fresh green plains near blue rivers. Again, cache was chosen as it is easy to find. Would admit to have more time in USA and have possibility to roam freely further from the paved roads to find more isolated caches. TFTC, no trade
