You'll need to RUN from zone to zone as fast as you can to complete the Kessel Run before time runs out.

Congratulations to: Imyy4u2, NateandBrandi, and Cryptosporidium-623 for the Tri-FTF!

This Wherigo is located in Fox Run Park.  You will do the Kessel Run in one small section of the park, and if you can beat the timer, you will be directed to the geocache which is hidden in a different part of the park.

According to Wookieepedia: the Kessel Run was one of the most heavily used smuggling routes in the Galactic Empire. Han Solo claimed that his Millennium Falcon "made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs". A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. Therefore, Solo was not referring directly to his ship's speed when he made this claim. Instead, he was referring to the shorter route he was able to travel by skirting the nearby Maw black hole cluster, thus making the run in under the standard distance. By moving closer to the black holes, Solo managed to cut the distance down to less than 12 parsecs.

Millennium Falcon

Regardless of what Han Solo meant while bragging about his ship to Obi Wan and Luke, this Wherigo will measure your ability to move from zone to zone quick enough to beat the timer.

To make it fair for space travelers of all ability levels, you can select your estimated fitness level at the beginning of the cartridge.  Couch Potatoes get a lot more time to complete the Kessel Run than Professional Runners.

Have fun, and May the Force Be With You!

I had a great time with this one - a saga which the gory details hardly merit relating here. Just a issue with darkness; an iPhone that wanted to play 70% - to - zero battery power in an instant; no AT&T reception here …. etc etc.

A great job on the cartridge though: when my phone pranged on the way from #9 to #10, the game remembered what I'd done as well as where I was. Once I got the power situation resolved I was able to get right back going where I had stopped & all went well from there!

On to the final; where I navigated without much trouble, but forgot to look at the unlock code. Another trip from parking, and sure enough the play resumed once again & re-offered me the code with no hang-up. Great BigSmile

Wahoo! Scored another wherigo!! The intro anthem inspired us to persevere against overwhelming odds... and odd is exactly what the kids at the nearby "spaceport" were thinking as they observed our antics.

Alas, Kenobi would have been unimpressed, as we only made it in 42 parsecs. Our spacecraft would nimbly reach the next leg of the Kessel run, but some interference from the dark side would require us to wait a minute or two before the hyperdrive motivator would engage. At least we didn't have to evade a giant space snake.

The final was a little tricky to find. The log is damp, and the container as cold and empty as deep space.

Well that was fun and silly. Kerewin0430 and I zig-zagged across the field interrupting people having a picnic and throwing Frisbee's. I think 3 million parsecs was a pretty good distance... Really, what was up with such tiny zone's. Kerewin0430 and I stood 10 feet apart, both at 0 ft. and couldn't get either phone to ping for the next zone. We must have been jammed by Imperial Forces. Super Fun, thanks for all the hard work in making a fun Whereigo. Next time I'm in the park I'll try it again and see if I can best our score. At the cache coordinates the cartridge gave Kerewin0430 a completion code, but refused to give me one. I went back later after we did a nearby multi-cache and was finally awarded the elusive code. Awarding a favorite point.

So...after today's Star Wars event, TheBrecks and I completed this fun Kessel Run...registering a mere 3 million parsecs! :-P

We circled and circled until our cartridges finally registered each stage (several saying we were 0 ft for quite some time before finally granting us clearance to the next stage - perhaps the intermittent clouds were responsible?). At one point, we even had a fun conversation with a muggle and his geo-aware companion, who promptly left to get her phone because "it's fun, we should go find a geocache!"

Thanks for another fun Wherigo, Klocks!

I picked this one up while chasing the last points I need to complete the ongoing Planets Souvenir Event. I approached this one with a significant degree of skepticism and trepidation as these digital widget caches seem to not work for me over half of the time. In the end, I got this one to work...but at considerably more effort than I think was intended. The overall problem was that the program was very loathe to give me credit for being in the zone. I often found myself going in circles or walking a straight line of the same 5' - 30' feet while I was told I was within 1ft of the zone. I soon learned that time hack is clearly a thing, as I progressively had to go to lower fitness settings to compensate for the amount of time taken to repeatedly walk in circles and back and forth to get credit for being in zone. On the fourth iteration (now as a couch potato), I was finally able to complete the ten zones by sprinting from point to point and then doing my slow walk in circles until I received credit for being in the zone. Once I got the green light to head for the geocache, I started my trek to the final. I had similar difficulties at the final, but once the program eventually spit out a valid lat/long, I could use my GPS and immediately find the container. While I personally think these types of caches can be great fun, I still have lingering doubts that the technology is truly ready for prime time given my experiences. Regardless, I was very happy to make the find and am grateful for the CO putting in the significant amount of effort to place this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC. Thanks also for giving this retired soldier one more opportunity to take another PT Test...can't wait to see the next Star Wars Wherigo were we have to drink Blue Milk and then take a urinalysis at 0500. ;)
