I was in Canon City for the Apple Blossom Parade this weekend (May 2nd). I had intended on doing some hiking but the weather wasn't cooperating. It finally cleared up on Sunday so I took a short stroll and hid this one. There aren't any caches off the highway yet so this seemed like a good hideaway.
Permission to place this cache granted by the campground owner. He said he didn't mind if cachers parked inside the campground to find this cache, but please respect campground guests and do not walk through any occupied campsites. Quiet time begins at 10pm, so no late night visits please.

You can also access this from the dry creek bed just off Barrett Road. Do not cross fences as they indicate private property on the SW side of the creek.

I'm always looking for a good location for next year's Sax Man's Campout and this hideaway just might work. When this cache was placed, we were almost ready for the 6th annual campout event just up the highway. The 7th annual campout will be at this campground July 9-11, 2010!

Keep a lookout for deer. If you don't bother them, they'll pose for pictures (well, almost)

 Hints

The cache should be hidden with a few rocks on top of it; if it isn't that way when you find it please help hide it correctly. It should be an easy find, but not completely exposed or in the open. Thanks

Went looking for the cache while staying at the camp ground, had help from the chickens and still didn’t find it. We were in the area where the coordinates took us, looks like it is missing after looking at previous entries and photos.

Well, even with checking out some of the pictures, and getting very close to the GZ, we came up with a big fat Zero.

Dad decided we all had to go out. While we drove for a while, it started raining and I fell asleep.

Dad woke me up at the campground office near this Geocache. We got up, and mom fed me while dad bought a shiny, tiny metal bear along with two bottled waters. Then it was off to find this Geocache.

Dad kept trying to make me wear a hat for the short walk - but I decided to take it off and throw it down every chance I could. We got to the area of the Geocache, and dad spotted it easily. He brought it to a flat area where mom and I could check it out. While dad was signing the log, I enjoyed inspecting the Geocache contents. Thanks for the find!

Mike was getting stir crazy at home. Between working nights and trying to regulate sleep - he just had to get out of the house. We decided to go find some caches, but he weather made us drive around for a while.

It's been a while since we just drove down the highway, so that was nice! We stopped by here and fed Kaylee, and me the proprietors of this campground. They sold us a souvenir (that is now attached to a Trackable, and some water for the road.

After stopping at the office/general store we walked to go find this cache. It was a pretty easy find, except Mike's phone was giving him grief and we didn't have this area loaded on the GPSr. We signed the log, and Kaylee checked out the contents. Thanks for the find!
