This is a popular area for the elk to hangout.  If the elk or deer are here when you are looking for the cache, go away and come back another time. Elk and deer are wild and even though it seems they should be used to people,they will become defensive and dangerous.  There is a small memorial plaque here apparently placed by family for a family member.  I haven’t been able to find any history on the plaque.  There is a pullout on Community Dr to park or a wide shoulder on Hwy 7 (S. St Vrain).
