After traveling many days* deep within the fringes of Pike National Forest, I came upon the Guardian lurking among the trees. It was a terrible match of wits to see who would achieve dominance. After a battle of many hours** with 4 quick twists of my steel willpower I was able to overcome the Guardian. Curious as to why it was placed here, I searched far and wide until I happened upon the hidden treasure buried sixty miles*** away. I now impart to you the location of the Guardian. Proceed there and you too can discover the treasure over which he still stands guard sixty feet away. Do not forget to place your mark in the "logbook". And remember, only the foolish disturb the Guardian!

In order to reach the Guardian proceed up the newly created forest service trail that begins at “parking” waypoint. Almost immediately take the faint trail that heads straight through the oak bushes (while the main trail forks to the right.) At “crossing” waypoint, cross the main trail and continue to follow the faint trail through the forest. As you approach “cutoff” waypoint, look for a trail that turns to the west and heads up the mountain. There are many parts of this trail that are still quite faint since it is in the process of being cut. Stay on the trail until about your GPSr reads about 100’.

*perhaps that's minutes

**or it could be seconds

Out on a hike the geopup this evening. Fun hike! As I zeroed in on the cache I felt like someone was watching me. Looked over my shoulder and spotted the guardian staring back and me. Sl, thanks!

Out on a the first hike since the treacherous Tragedy cache last fall. I figured I'd be dragging Rick down on the climb, but this was much more doable than the hill that hides Tragedy. In fact the whole trip with searching and the round about path, which I calculate to be about 2 miles from his car to where we left my car. Awesome fun day even with the bit of rain we caught. TFTC!

Ha! What a fun little cache! TheSKuLL and I decided this area would be our first hike of the year. We decided to head up the trail along the top to grab a bunch of caches there. We made it as far as we thought would be good. Then we came straight down the mountain from the top to this one. THeSKuLL had figured out the clue and what to look for, not that it was hard to spot. From there we headed in the appropriate direction as described and found the cache without any problems. Signed and stamped the log and returned as found. Cache is in great shape! Thanks for placing and creating this fun cache!

This was the target cache for my hike today. Hopped off of the trail and began searching at the appropriate distance from GZ, missing one important clue. Finally figured out what needed to be done and had the cache in hand seconds later. Funny...didn't see any other people on the trail today except for at this cache, with 2 bikers coming by within 10 minutes of each other. Grabbed the geocoin that was in the cache. Glad to finally have this one found, thanks for the creative and fun puzzle cache!

I parked at the suggested parking area and headed up the well marked and traveled trail. I started my search when I arrived at the 100 ft marker. Unfortunately, this resulted in me searching many incorrect areas and of course not finding anything (although at one time I was within 5ft of the cache. I decided on a different approach and after a little while I spotted something very unusual out here in the woods. Finally I found the Guardian. Surely the cache will be at my feet, but no, I search vain again. Finally, after wondering why there is a reference to a line from Casablanca (which BTW is a very good movie) I had another idea and the cache was in my hands a short time later. Now after finding the cache, I realize I misinterpreted the directions which is what cause me to look in so many wrong places. Very well done puzzle!
