Hampden Branch

This cache is located at the Hampden Branch Library.
This location's hours are as follows:
Monday: 10-6
Tuesday: 12-8
Wednesday: 12-8
Thursday: 10-6
Friday: 10-6
Saturday: 9-5
Sunday: 1-5

This is a Letterbox Hybrid so the posted coordinates will be your starting point. There will be some simple tasks ahead for you to find the final, and get your stamp. You will need to figure out a number to find it. Ready? Let's go!

From the posted coordinates, count how many pillars are in this area. This number is A.

Now, enter the library, and once you go through the second set of doors,
go FIVE paces forward to the beautiful metal art wall. There are often things in front of this wall, so this time we'll just use the top row.

Look at the artwork that is FOUR over from the LEFT on the TOP row. How many shapes are there attached inside the circle? This number is B.
Look at the artwork that is FOUR over from the RIGHT on the TOP row. How many crescent moons are there? This number is C.

Now you should have numbers for A, B, and C. Add them all together.
If they equal 18, the geocache container is at the ideaLAB desk
If they equal 27, the geocache container is at the Help Desk/Reference Section
If they equal 36, the geocache container is at computer station #3

Please do NOT remove the stamp from this cache. Finding this cache will be easy, but opening may be difficult. There are two locks on it. You have three hints available on the back of the geocache in ROT13 if you need them. Good luck!

GROUP FIRST TO FIND = benj59, Edwards654, herndonrd, and 2lablovers

This cache series would not be possible without the enthusiastic and supportive help of the staff at the Denver Public Library. Be sure to visit the other geocaches in this series, and collect the special code at each final for future surprises. A bookmark of the other caches in this series can be found HERE. Denver Public Libraries are closed starting March 16 until further notice. Just making a note in case someone came out from under their rock and was not aware. Stay safe my friends.

Had some time between commitments today, so ran around to several libraries - just in time, apparently! There are signs on the doors saying that all DPLs will be closed starting Monday 3/16/2020 until further notice. I had found the original one that was here...was interested to see the new one in place. Goodness, the final threw me for a loop...even with the hints. Thank goodness I had bobby pins in my hair today...otherwise, the hint that the librarian gave me wouldn't have made any sense. Thanks for placing this unique series of caches!

After a couple of previous unsuccessful tries, I decided to make another go at this cache. I found the container, decoded the hints, and tried some of the obvious solutions. Nothing. I finally decided to ask the friendly librarian for some help. (Liberians are some of the most friendly people on earth and they can help you in a hushed voice.) He not only set me on the right path but gave me a TOTT to help me make the find. After a few tries the solutions were found and I was signing the log and recording the smiley. A favorite point for the cleverness of this container. TFTC

Working on the Denver Public Library GeoTour with GotYour6. I had been here before but today came armed with the info needed to “Open the Door”. Thanks for this one. Very inventive.
A geocaching goal for 2020 is to fill in my 365/366 grid. Feb 21, 2020 is a day needed and now ticked off the list.

Another well done dpl cache! Needed a tool I didn't bring with me but the librarian was happy to supply.
For future cachers there are some tiny coins in the cache currently that like to slip out under the door so you may want to watchout for them. Sl, thanks!

Roamed far and wide today, in the early morning hours - this was the last of nine geocaches that I found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Found the container easily-that part I enjoyed other than standing in front of 2 ladies at a table in order to count parts b & c. Decoded the hint and was still confused. Because of spell check I had a little bit of it wrong but figured that out. Still nothing made sense. Messaged the CO & got a hint but in the meantime a library employee who is a cacher? Came up & offered me something very important & gave me more than a hint & I was finally able to get it open. Wow! That is tough....
Good Luck!

I was at the library this afternoon to host a 101 class. We chose to do this cache after the class. It was a little more difficult than I realized, but the newbies were very enthusiastic and loved all of the steps to the solve. We were confused when the QR code didn't work. I was lucky that I was meeting the CO there and he let us know that we didn't need that. Very well done. This gets a favorite.

Perfect location today since I had a track meet less than 2 miles away. Had the right tools to solve and open.

May the 4th Be With You!

Remembered visiting the library for the prior cache and the amazing artwork there. The new container was quite the creative upgrade! It took awhile to open the container, but it was worth it to see all of the goodies inside! TNLNSL. Thanks for a clever and unique library cache that earns a fav!
