This is a large cache on a beautiful and child friendly, shore-side hike. The cache is less than a 15 minute hike from the parking lot (see waypoint), however, the hike goes on the length of the lake.

This is the second in a series of themed caches inspired by the 2 youngest weasels, Rosy (4) and Bubba (6). They love pint-sized adventure caches (hiking <15 minutes from a well marked parking spot), a fairly obvious hide in an area interesting to mini-weasels, and a traditional, well-stocked cache!

Come prepared with a book to exchange!

If you have time, don’t miss the small swimming beach and GC4FH6A (Duck, Duck, Cache), both favorites of my weasels! Permit required to enter Larimer County Open Spaces. Written Permission to hide cache has been obtained.

Bummer, I couldn't get the automated permit machine to work - it ignored my credit card.
And since I'm not one to try to pull one over on park rangers, I wound up bailing. I really wouldn't have minded paying the $9 vehicle fee just for a 30-minute visit for this cache. I wish they used the old cash-in-an-envelope system I've seen in so many other parks.

Fun cache on a beautiful late summer day.
We were worried since there were no recorded fine since April, however it is there and in good condition.
We did not bring a book, as we did not look up this find in time to grab one.

Had a nice chilly time. Enjoyed a Brisk walk with my Wife and was able to go for this cache for closing the New Year. I hope every one has a Good year this next Year with a lot of Great Cache Finds and adventures. Left a Brother Cadfael Mystery Thought it an appropriate book for Geo Cache hunters.

Well, darn, I forgot this was a book cache! I even marked it on my cache log to remind myself to bring a book, and then I...didn't. May return & add one, although it's pretty full at the moment. Really nice little trail.
